Yes, yes, I know: long time, no update. Things are going well here, and I'll be posting a bit of a photo-essay shortly. Currently, however, it's pre-dawn on Friday and, owing to an inventory at work which kept me on the job for nearly 14 hours, I'm awake and feeling frisky. So, that makes it time for the Friday Shuffle:
- "Pull Out" - Death From Above 1979
- "Mysterons" - Portishead
- "Strawberry Fields Forever" - The Beatles
- "In the Garage" - Weezer
- "Over My Head" - King's X
- "First Kiss" - They Might Be Giants
- "Guerilla Radio" - Rage Against The Machine
- "I Want To Hold Your Hand" - The Beatles
- "Good Day Sunshine" - The Beatles
- "Oily Night" - Tom Waits
- "Sweet Emotion" - Aerosmith
- "You Can't Always Get What You Want" - The Rolling Stones
- "So What'cha Want?" - The Beastie Boys
- "Venus" - Television
- "Colony of Birchmen" - Mastodon
Because I'm wired a certain way, I tend to ascribe meaning to random events. Not in any serious, OCD, schizophrenic way—more in a delighted, happy way. Anyway, this particular shuffle—for reasons that are, and will become (when I do the aforementioned photo-essay), obvious—seems particularly apt. However, there is one little bit that tickled my synapses which might not be clear to everyone who's not me. So, I'll point it out: "Pull Out" followed immediately by Portishead (arguably the sexiest music on the planet) gave me the initial impression that my iPod was telling me a dirty joke. That impression thinned out a bit as I listened through the rest of the random selections, although "First Kiss", "Sweet Emotion" and "Oily Night" gave it just the right amount of resonance, so I'm still sort of chuckling about it.
Take care, y'all. I'll be back soon. Ish.
Soon-ish. :)

Alright, you're back again!!!
Now I guess this means I need to update my blog, too. Hmmm...
Well, the first meaning I saw in your play list before your Portishead reference was:
You can't always get what you want. (the Stones)
So whatcha want? (the Beasties)
Ponder that.
Oops.
Shoulda left my name :P
Jason.
